Should I charge sales tax or charge?
Hello I run a business over internet.I have a partner who does all my ordering.He is here in Michigan as well.I get orders on the Web, other states. He orders things (lighted palm trees) and send things incapacitating my clients.Should I demand the payment of sales tax (Michigan 6%) since my products are eventually out of the state and is managed by the web? I can not pay sales tax on items I sell on eBay that come out of the state. So I must charge sales tax? I do not understand any help would great.Thanks.
If you are a registered wholesaler / retailer, you do not pay sales tax. the end user pays the tax. If you are buying retail products (such as a person that controls just a lot), then you must pay sales tax because you are considered user Finally, even if you are going to turn around and sell it. and many states require that items shipped to a location, assess the tax correspondent. (For example, if you send someone in New York, they are supposed to pay NY sales tax on it)
