I charge a fair price. I remains presentable. I give them my business card greeting them. I say: "Hello, My name is () of () Tree Service. Can I make an offer to cut your palms? Sometimes they say "I am myself" Sometimes they say "I have someone who is already" Can someone give me more advice on how to land a sale with selling door to door like that.
Instead of saying "I can make you an offer ....", try "can I give you a free estimate on trimming ....". Or before you hit, you get an idea what they were looking at first, then every say and just let them know what you want when you are responsible for their talk. Maybe throw in a discount of 10% time for "new customers". You can also consider offering your existing customers a reference "discount if they refer all neighbors / friends / family to you. Give the new customer and a reduction of existing customers to a commission "for the reference.
